The inCompass IP team was delighted to visit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the 2025 meeting of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), held from 6 to 10 November 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The meeting incorporated APAA’s 21st General Assembly and 77th and 78th Council Meetings, bringing together patent attorneys, trade mark practitioners and other intellectual property professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

For inCompass IP, the conference was an excellent opportunity to reconnect with long-standing international associates, meet new contacts and exchange views on developments affecting clients with cross-border intellectual property interests. As businesses increasingly develop, commercialise and protect their brands and innovations across multiple jurisdictions, close cooperation among trusted IP advisers is more important than ever.

The programme offered a valuable forum for discussions on current IP law and practice, as well as professional issues relevant to patent and trade mark practitioners. The conference also provided opportunities for informal discussions and relationship-building with colleagues across the region.
